About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Conduct and Operational Risk team as a Head of Data & AI for the EMEA region. This role is a critical part of our second line of defense, responsible for independent challenge and oversight of the business with respect to data and AI governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Develop, implement, and maintain relevant data and AI risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant laws and regulations in the EMEA region.
  • Support Regulatory Engagements: Collaborate with regulatory bodies, including the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), FCA, and PRA in the UK, and other relevant authorities in the EMEA region, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide Credible Challenge: Work with senior leaders in Conduct and Operational Risk and the first line of defense to provide credible challenge to assessments of the risk and control environment, including issue identification and remediation and control effectiveness across data and AI risks.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including CTC, Legal, and the LOB Privacy Champions and Chief Data and Analytics office in EMEA, to ensure data regulatory requirements are met.
  • Develop Monitoring and Testing Activities: Develop and implement monitoring and testing activities to identify and assess data and AI risks and provide challenge to the business to implement measures to mitigate.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments: Conduct and/or oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects and initiatives.
  • Execute Compliance and Operational Risk Assessments: Execute compliance and operational risk assessments and challenge in line with the global Conduct and Operational Risk oversight program and local regulatory obligations.
  • Ensure Compliance with AI Regulations: Ensure and challenge to the business' compliance with regulations in the development and deployment of AI systems.
  • Monitor AI Regulations: Monitor the impact of new AI regulations across the EMEA region, oversee first line of defense implementation of such regulations, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Report Results: Report the results of Conduct and Operational Risk data and AI risk management activities, including challenges and monitoring and testing activities, to senior managers and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Substantial Experience: Substantial experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, or a related field, financial services industry.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with and influencing senior business stakeholders.
