Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £80 - £90

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at TeacherActive. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and therapists to provide personalized support plans for each student.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deploying strategies to de-escalate challenging situations
  • Nurturing a safe learning environment
  • Aiding teachers in creating and executing engaging lessons tailored to individual abilities, learning styles, and needs
  • Offering consistent one-on-one and group support to students requiring additional assistance
  • Monitoring physical, social, and emotional well-being, ensuring a secure environment, and customizing educational support to each student's distinctive needs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Level 3 qualification and/or a minimum of 6 months' experience in an educational establishment
  • A calm, patient, and caring persona
  • Good communication skills
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Effective behaviour management skills
