About the Role

Hitachi Zosen Inova AG is seeking a skilled Civil Design Coordinator to join our team in the Birmingham area. As a key member of our civil works team, you will be responsible for managing the design processes of subcontractors and ensuring that civil works are executed in accordance with the contract, project time, budget, HSE, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design interface with external and/or in-house design teams.
  • Establish and monitor the design release schedule to ensure agreed target milestones are met and mitigate risk and delays.
  • Evaluate the design provided by others and facilitate technically profound construction solutions.
  • Represent the civil design department at internal and external meetings.
  • Provide construction experience feedback for current and future projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil/structural engineering or architecture with at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong experience in civil project management and design coordination, preferably in large-scale civil, industrial, or plant business construction projects.
  • Solution-oriented, forward planner, strong communicator, and good negotiation skills.
  • Good knowledge of QA processes as applicable to the civil construction industry.
  • Good command of English, other languages are an advantage.
