Job Title: Financial Compliance Specialist

Join Northern Marine Group as a Financial Compliance Specialist and take on a challenging role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's financial and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Group's authorisation instructions matrix and perform annual reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead Agresso Controls meetings, follow up on actions, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Work independently to open new bank accounts as needed, both in and out of the UK, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform annual reviews of finance, purchasing, and AP processes, and work with document owners to improve documentation quality.
  • Be the first point of contact for changes to existing finance documentation and develop a streamlined change management process.
  • Identify gaps in existing documentation and suggest recommendations to improve finance processes.
  • Assist in establishing new companies, including registering subsidiaries, VAT registration, and related tasks.
  • Attend debtors meetings with the Head of Financial Compliance, take ownership of minutes and actions, and provide consolidated reporting to senior management.
  • Assist in managing and reporting the Group's working capital, including cashflows, inventory policies, debtors, and cash analysis.
  • Responsible for the continual improvement, audit, and compliance of key Finance documentation controlled within Qualsys.
  • Assist in overseeing external audits for UK entities and deliver evidence for other audits, including ISO, client audits, and SOC audits.
  • Assist with ad-hoc information requests and projects required from finance.
  • Develop relationships with senior stakeholders and company directors.
  • Responsible for monthly UK company pension submissions, HMRC payments, and finance payroll costings.
  • Assist with annual tax compliance, including submission of corporation tax returns for UK companies.
  • Responsible for preparing P11Ds and annual PSAs for each PAYE reference.
  • Take the lead on project-based work, ensuring teams are focused with agreed deadlines and objectives.
  • Assist the finance team with AARO reporting to meet parent company objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential

  • Degree or Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS)
