Witney, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Abbott Laboratories Full time

Abbott is a global healthcare leader that helps people live more fully at all stages of life. Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic medicines.

At Abbott, we believe that new ideas come from different places and points of view. To achieve our ambitions, we're actively shaping our organization for the future by prioritizing diversity and inclusion, advancing STEM education and internships, and empowering our teams with skills to meet the health needs of tomorrow.

World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence and Innovation in Witney for the development and manufacture of test strips and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. Our Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities and our internal quality systems.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our Operations Planning team in the role of Planning Analyst.

This role is pivotal in linking the planning team with the wider business, specifically looking at capacity optimization. The role interfaces with Operations, Engineering, R&D, Testing and Technical.

As a Planning Analyst, you will be responsible for impact assessments and scenario planning relating to site and production capacity. The role is responsible for longer term planning in relation to space and storage requirements, and for near term capacity of our production areas.

The key responsibilities in this role are:

  1. Owning production capacity within the 1-18 month horizon, updating assumptions on a monthly basis through the Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) process.
  2. Partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure that non-production requests for line time are captured, managed and prioritised effectively.
  3. Translating live operational issues into capacity impact assessments, and creating scenarios plans which aid business decision making.
  4. Ability to tailor communications to multiple audiences, and effectively use data to tell a story, informing others of critical information points and supporting decision making.

To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified, but the key requirement is a breadth of experience in material planning processes within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

In addition to a competitive salary, Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package which includes a defined-contribution pension scheme, a share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements.
