Job Overview: Recruitment Services Ltd seeks an accomplished Erector of Steel Frameworks to assemble, install, and secure structural steel components for construction projects in Glasgow. The successful candidate will have expertise in steel erection techniques, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assemble and install structural steel components, including beams, columns, and frameworks.
  2. Operate tools and equipment such as cranes, cherry pickers, and mobile elevating work platforms to position steel structures.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
  4. Conduct pre-installation inspections to verify structural components meet project specifications.
  5. Secure structural steel components using bolts, welding, or other fastening methods.
  6. Perform post-installation inspections to confirm alignment and stability.
  7. Dismantle temporary supports and scaffolding after installations are complete.
  8. Adhere to industry safety standards, including working at height and manual handling guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Steel Erecting or a related field.
  • CCNG / CSCS certification.
  • Certification in operating MEWPs (IPAF 3a/3b) and working with scaffolding systems (PASMA).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Steel Erector in construction or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including LOLER, PUWER, and working at height protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card for Steel Erectors.

The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
