We are seeking a highly skilled Information Governance Professional to join our team at the University of Glasgow. This exciting role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with our information assets, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in records and information management, with a strong understanding of data protection and freedom of information legislation. They will also possess excellent training and presentation skills, as well as project management experience in complex information or compliance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on FOI enquiries, Subject Access Requests, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and other data protection related enquiries and records management provision.
  • Contribute to the management and review of the University's Information Asset Register (IAR).
  • Assist in resolving complex and sensitive information compliance and records management cases.
  • Design and deliver information compliance training materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate information compliance initiatives in the Higher Education sector.
  • Develop and revise University records and information management practices, policies, and guidance.

Requirements

  • A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9 (Ordinary Degree) and relevant formal training or significant experience in records and information management.
  • Awareness of records management, data protection, and freedom of information legislation in a complex public sector environment.
  • Awareness of the impact and issues evolving from UK information legislation case law.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Office 365.
  • Recognised postgraduate qualification in records and information management.
  • Demonstrable and extensive training and presentation experience.
  • Project management experience in complex information or compliance projects.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately £42,000 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer an excellent employment package with generous terms and conditions.
