Perioperative Care Specialist Role

Frontline Healthcare is committed to providing excellent patient care, and we are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Theatre Practitioner to join our team in the Operating Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care.

About the Role:

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
  • First surgical assistant certificate
  • Additional skills in recovery and anaesthetics
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems
  • Scrub Nurse with experience in all or some of the following specialisms - ENT, Orthopaedic, General surgery and Neuro

Key Accountabilities:

  1. To deliver safe quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care
  2. To support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department
  3. To lead and manage a team, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a peri-operative function or surgical specialty
  4. Contribute to quality improvement
  5. Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly
  6. Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors
  7. Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures
