Job Overview

The North Middlesex University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to lead our preterm birth service. As a midwife leader, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to women at risk of preterm birth, ensuring that our service is delivered in accordance with national standards and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the preterm birth service team.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care pathways for women at risk of preterm birth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Lead on quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure that all patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care, and that their needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines for the preterm birth service.
  • Provide education and training to staff on preterm birth care and management.
  • Contribute to the development of research and audit projects to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered midwife with a strong background in preterm birth care.
  • Excellent clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, with a focus on quality improvement and patient-centered care.
  • Knowledge of national standards and guidelines for preterm birth care, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
