Teaching Assistant Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Learning Disability Teaching Assistant Lead to join our esteemed secondary school. As a Learning Disability Teaching Assistant Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with severe learning disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities, and autistic spectrum disorders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a patient demeanor, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers to enhance student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students and groups, using resources to inspire understanding and develop communication, interaction, and cognitive skills. They will also work closely with teaching staff to ensure the best outcomes for students. Additionally, they will be expected to foster independence and promote well-being and good welfare among students. A clear DBS check is mandatory for this position.

Requirements:
  • A high level of patience and understanding when interacting with students.
  • An adaptable and flexible attitude to meet the changing needs of students.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to maintain a productive work environment.
  • A valid DBS check to guarantee a secure working setting.
