Job Overview

As a Mechanical and Electrical Fitter, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties on Substation plant and equipment. This will include installation of new equipment, refurbishment and maintenance of existing equipment, fault investigation and repair, and routine condition monitoring.

You will benefit from our industry-leading training at our facilities in Eakring, Nottinghamshire, and other substation sites. This will include a training programme that may require occasional stays away from home, with generous mobility and overnight allowances.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 2/3 recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, or an NVQ/Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification with relevant fitting experience

• Good all-round engineering skills, including working to Safety Procedures, Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Fitting, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Working at Height, Lifting Operations, Panel Wiring, and Fault Finding

• A Full UK Driving Licence

• Ability to use a computer

• Live within 30 minutes' travel of Northfleet or Gillingham

Desirable

• High voltage engineering experience

• IOSH
