About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of skilled engineers and technicians who work together to maintain and repair our trains. As a Train Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out defect repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks to ensure our trains are safe and reliable for our passengers.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out primary defect repairs on in-service units, including defect troubleshooting and rectification.
  • Working on our latest fleet of trains to ensure they are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Carrying out time-based maintenance packages and repairs.

We're looking for someone with strong mechanical and electrical skills, able to pass a Personal Track Safety course or Depot Track Safety course. Basic knowledge of IT systems and computer skills would also be beneficial.

As a Train Technician at Southeastern, you can expect a competitive salary of around £35,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience. You'll also receive a range of benefits, including free rail travel on Southeastern and GTR services, a contributory final salary pension scheme, and up to 32 days annual leave entitlement.
