About the Role

The Senior Care Assistant for Learning Disability will play a key role in coordinating and leading the Bromley by Bow Centre's day care service for adults with a range of abilities and needs. This includes those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, dementia, and mental ill health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead the day-to-day running of the service
  • Lead a small team of support staff, workshop tutors, volunteers, and student placements
  • Ensure high-quality, person-centred support for all individuals accessing the service
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date support plans and coordinate personalized care
  • Develop activities in arts and creativity and build life skills, promoting independence, wellbeing, and inclusion within the community
  • Establish and maintain good working practices with those accessing the service, their families/carers, and commissioners
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote a positive, engaging, and promotional role with local authorities
