About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Academic Operations Manager. This is a key role within the School of Medical Sciences, responsible for leading the Assessment and Progression team.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality services. They will be responsible for organizing assessments, managing exams, quality assurance, results publication, and ensuring smooth delivery of examination boards.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative individual to make a meaningful contribution to the School and University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a dedicated team of professionals in the successful management of assessment and progression activities.
  • Collaborate with academic and professional service colleagues across the School, Faculty, and University to foster a strong, student-focused environment.
  • Take ownership of exam delivery, assessments, results publication, and beyond ensuring that everything runs seamlessly.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leading exciting projects that enhance processes and contribute to the future of education.
  • Promote a unified culture across academic and professional services, making a meaningful difference to the lives of students.

About the School of Medical Sciences

The School of Medical Sciences is home to a 5-year Undergraduate Medical Programme (MBCHB), 2 Undergraduate Dentistry Programmes, a Physicians Associates Programme, a portfolio of around 27 PGT programmes, and international activity across many of these programmes.

The team that reports to this role comprises of 4 TLSE Coordinators, 5 TLSE Administrators, and 3 TLSE Assistants.
