Senior Application Operations Engineer

DWP Digital is embarking on a transformative technology journey, and we need your expertise to ensure seamless service delivery.
As a Senior Application Operations Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering application operations that provide continuous service to our users across DWP Digital.
You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with your team and other multi-disciplinary teams, including Service Owners, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineers, and Architects.
DWP is the UK's largest government department, helping people into work and making payments worth over £195bn a year to support vulnerable individuals.
You will contribute to changing the face of public services used by nearly every person in the UK at key moments in their lives.
Our team provides support for a range of technologies, including Linux, Windows servers, SQL and Non-SQL databases, Cloud and On-Premises based servers, and various third-party software.
You will be the escalation point for application issues, collaborating with other business and technical teams to develop ongoing reliability, performance, and support.
We take career development seriously, working alongside other functions such as DevOps, Site Reliability (SRE), and other Engineering disciplines.
As part of our 24/7 rota, you will support your applications, covering mornings, days, evenings, and overnight shifts.
Location: You will join us in one of our digital hubs in Blackpool and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Work: We offer flexible working arrangements, with some time at home and some time in a hub with the team.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £43,347.
Pension: You will be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28%.
Holidays: You will get a generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31, plus all the usual bank holidays, and the option to take extra days off on flexi leave.
