Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Officer to join our team at Sentinel Marine Ltd. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety on board our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the galley and provisions inventory to ensure efficient and cost-effective food preparation and storage.
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our crew and passengers.
  • Supervise and train junior crew members in food preparation, safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the galley and provisions storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Master and other department heads to ensure seamless communication and coordination of galley operations.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on galley operations, provisions inventory, and food safety compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce food waste and minimize environmental impact.
  • Ensure that all galley equipment and appliances are properly maintained and serviced to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Master or other senior officers.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Culinary Officer or equivalent position on a commercial vessel.
  • STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) certification.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
