Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, visionary, and committed Registered Nurse to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our patients, working independently and supporting care given by other professionals, while following Practice protocols.

Main Duties

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols/policies & guidelines
  • Providing nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the team
  • Performing routine nursing tasks related to patient care, such as immunisations, cervical screening, wound management, and chronic disease management
  • Maintaining accurate electronic clinical health care records
  • Working flexibly in line with the present atmosphere for change within the health service delivery

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse who wishes to develop their career in General Practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience of chronic disease management
  • Experience of working autonomously
  • Experience of infection prevention and control measures

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) with:

  • Essential qualifications in wound care, ECGs, venepuncture, and new patient medicals
  • Desirable qualifications in mentorship, teaching, postgraduate diploma or degree in chronic disease management, nurse prescribing, and family planning

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Effective time management (planning and organizing)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
