Data Center Project Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at JMG Solutions LTD in Amsterdam, supporting the mechanical delivery aspects of a major data center project.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct rigorous mechanical design reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with specifications and drawings
  • Develop detailed RFI responses to clarify design ambiguities and potential issues
  • Verify equipment sizing (e.g., ductwork, pipework) and provide recommendations when necessary
  • Lead the submittal approval process, tracking procurement and delivery of mechanical equipment, and verifying completion once delivered
  • Perform thorough system walk-downs to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and management systems
  • Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and the project BIM team
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to sub-contracted staff throughout the project
  • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with site and project requirements, including health & safety standards
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities
  • Collaborate with the project team to sequence the installation of mechanical systems efficiently and safely
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve complex problems
  • Manage document control to maintain accurate and up-to-date logs and records
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role within the mechanical and electrical contracting sector
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems in data center environments
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with contractors on-site
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £70,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also have access to a competitive salary package with rotational rosters, as well as career progression and development opportunities within our dynamic and innovative team environment.
