School Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:
GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Caretaker to join our team. As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our school premises, ensuring a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Security: Oversee the maintenance and security of school premises, including cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of school equipment and facilities.
- Team Supervision: Supervise a small team of support staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Health and Safety: Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address potential hazards promptly.
- Emergency Response: Act as the point of contact for emergencies, addressing issues such as fire alarms, heating failures, and security breaches.
- Communication: Liaise with school staff, contractors, and external agencies to coordinate maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to the learning environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenditures, and equipment inventory.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience as a School Caretaker or in a role within a similar setting.
- Leadership Skills: Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Health and Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
