School Maintenance Manager

GSL Education - Bournemouth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Caretaker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors by maintaining the school premises and overseeing security protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance and security of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of school equipment and facilities.
- Supervise a small team of support staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address potential hazards promptly.
- Act as the point of contact for emergencies, addressing issues such as fire alarms, heating failures, and security breaches.
- Liaise with school staff, contractors, and external agencies to coordinate maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to the learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenditures, and equipment inventory.
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker or in a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
