About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Process Lead to join our team at Chemring Energetics UK Ltd. The successful candidate will have a degree in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline, and experience in production environments.

This is a key role that requires a high level of expertise in process design, implementation, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for designing plant and process layouts, leading risk assessments, and implementing safe manufacturing methods.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all processes are efficient, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong bias for action, ability to build relationships, and effective communication skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, bonus, and excellent benefits, including pension, healthcare, and flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing plant and process layouts, including jigs and tooling
  • Leading risk assessments and implementing safe manufacturing methods
  • Conducting reviews of products and processes using tools like Process FMEA and statistical analysis
  • Supporting root cause analysis and corrective action management plans
  • Maintaining product design history files and providing operating instructions
  • Providing technical assessments and reports, and delivering technical information to diverse audiences
  • Developing safe and effective plans and strategies, and providing support to production
  • Maintaining compliance with industry legislation and establishing professional relationships with stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Degree in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in production environments
  • Knowledge of lean six sigma, engineering design, and problem-solving
  • IT skills
  • A strong bias for action, ability to build relationships, and effective communication skills
