Job Summary:
The Structural Integrity Analyst role at BAE Systems involves defining and executing engineering analysis tasks to ensure the structural integrity of modern military air platforms. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement structural analysis plans, working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality results.
- Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance calculations using various software applications, ensuring that structural designs meet certification and project requirements.
- Evaluate the implications of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft, considering F&DT aspects.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the Structures discipline.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering effective collaboration between team members, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A STEM-related degree or relevant aerospace engineering experience is essential.
- Familiarity with structural fatigue and fracture mechanics, dynamics, vibration, and acoustic effects analysis methods is required.
- Good understanding of classical structural analysis techniques and methods is necessary.
- Experience in using and applying structural analysis tools such as Nastran, and output data processing techniques is required.
- Leadership experience in developing and delivering satisfactory customer outcomes is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of Aircraft Structural Engineering, and the application of F&DT analysis is essential.
