About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High-Level Train Technician to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out in-depth fault finding on Class 345 Electric Multiple Unit trains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake all types of fault finding, both mechanical and electrical, with a bias on electrical systems.
  • Take overall responsibility for the reliability of the fleet as a member of the high-level technician team.
  • Complete software loads, data recorder analysis, and customer-related meetings in relation to reliability.
  • Undertake all work to a high professional standard to ensure a safe, reliable, and defect-free train.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum qualification required - NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline.
  • Experience within the rail industry, with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Use of laptops and diagnostic tools to determine faults.
  • Ability to work from maintenance manuals and schematics.
  • Experience of mechanical or electrical fault finding and repair.
  • Troubleshooting and evidence gathering.
