High Level Technician

Join our team as a High Level Technician and take on a challenging role working with a world-renowned rolling stock manufacturer. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for assisting the Fleet Operator in undertaking and supervising corrective mechanical and electrical maintenance, detailed fault finding, and repair on the Class 345 Crossrail fleet of trains.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Fleet Operator in undertaking and supervising corrective mechanical and electrical maintenance, detailed fault finding, and repair on the Class 345 Crossrail fleet of trains.
- Provide high-level technical support to the operator, including high-level fault finding electrically and mechanically, and providing train systems engineering advice for the vehicle as a whole and for key vehicle systems.
- Monitor trains reliability and availability performance and issue monthly performance reports.
- Assist the operator in updating maintenance instructions, overhaul instructions, processes, and procedures to optimize maintenance and liaise with Alstom Technical Publications and Central Engineering teams where required.
- Monitor trains in service using remote monitoring systems and download train data from onboard train data recorders using laptops.
- Run diagnostics software to identify faults with various train systems and system software updates as required.
- Obsolescence avoidance and mitigation, engineering support for all safety-related incidents, and representation on Failure Review Boards.
- Contribute to Health and Safety on a daily basis and share experience gained of other fleets across the world which the Service Provider has supplied and/or supports.
- Minimum qualification required - NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline.
- Experience within Rail desirable.
- Use of Laptop's and diagnostic tools to determine faults.
- Ability to work from maintenance manuals and schematics.
- Experience of Mechanical or Electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Troubleshooting and evidence gathering.
- Highly self-motivated individual, able to work under own initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive all-round knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive all-round knowledge of Electrical Engineering.
