Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Advisor to join our team at Team Recruitment Ltd.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Supply Chain Management and Procurement, with experience in developing and implementing category strategies to minimize the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for our client.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Category Strategies: The successful candidate will develop and implement category strategies for Exploration/Offshore Service Categories, including performing assessments, developing supply market analysis, and constructing cost models to facilitate long-term management of company spend.
  2. Identify and Implement TCO Reduction Opportunities: The candidate will identify and implement TCO reduction opportunities for the goods and services being evaluated, optimizing the total cost of the product or service by leveraging across markets, forming key supplier alliances, consolidating the supplier base, and exploring efficiencies involved in the supply chain.
  3. Lead Cross-Functional Teams: The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams on project-based initiatives to develop and implement key elements of category strategies.
  4. Manage the Competitive Bidding Process: The candidate will manage the competitive bidding process for multiple lines of services both locally and globally as part of strategic sourcing events, including supplier communications.
  5. Develop Negotiation Strategies: The successful candidate will develop negotiation strategies by identifying and quantifying gives, takes, and best alternatives.
  6. Coordinate Commercial Agreements: The candidate will coordinate the preparation and execution of commercial agreements in a manner that ensures proper definition of the business relationship allocating/mitigating risk between company and the supplier.
  7. Monitor Leading Supply Market Indicators: The successful candidate will identify and monitor leading supply market indicators to proactively adjust category strategies.
  8. Work with Key Stakeholders: The candidate will work with key stakeholders and suppliers to create accurate material forecasts, placing orders to ensure adequate inventory and safety stock levels avoiding any operational downtime.
  9. Evaluate and Test Category Levers: The successful candidate will evaluate and test category levers, including pooled demand, standard designs/requirements, and supplier performance incentives to drive continuous improvement.
  10. Establish and Maintain Supply Relationships: The candidate will establish, maintain, and communicate an understanding of the client business unit, the relative importance of the materials and services required, and process improvement methods utilized to support Supply Chain initiatives.
  11. Interact with Business Units: The successful candidate will interact with business units to ensure understanding and ownership is achieved on all commercial and project-based initiatives.
  12. Drive Supplier Performance Management: The candidate will drive supplier performance management through measurement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), communication of operational performance, and identification of areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a relevant business/technical/law/QS discipline.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, or general Supply Chain experience within diverse industries/markets.
  3. Knowledge and Experience: Experience of oil and gas operations in category management/contracts environment, with knowledge and experience of subsea, projects, operations, engineering, and logistics categories beneficial.
  4. Category Management Knowledge: Knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing processes, procedures, and practices.
  5. Contract Negotiation Experience: Executed contract/commercial negotiations.
  6. Evaluation Modeling Experience: Working knowledge of evaluation modeling experience, including cost/benefit and present value analysis.
  7. Excel Knowledge: Excel knowledge and experience.
  8. SAP Ariba Experience: Experience with SAP Ariba related to sourcing and contracts is preferred.
