Job Title: Team Lead - Research Integrity, Prevention

At Springer Nature, we are committed to protecting our business and reputation from research integrity challenges. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to join our Research Integrity, Prevention team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for training and development of multiple direct reports, managing the team's workload and ensuring team efficiency, monitoring their performance and providing feedback, as well as delivering personal targets. The Team Lead will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of strategic initiatives to prevent integrity problems.

The responsibilities of the Team Lead include:

Team Management

• Supervise a team of senior integrity analysts by providing support, training and guidance.

• Monitor team performance and coach the team as necessary to improve performance.

• Engage regularly with team members via formal performance review processes that focus on targets, achievements and personal development.

• Deliver personal targets in line with Prevention team and company goals.

• Report on progress toward objectives and goals.

• Provide improvement ideas to optimize and contribute to the wider team's KPI report.

Delivering and Supporting Implementation of the Strategy

• Work closely with the Head of Research Integrity, Prevention to support the development of tools and systems to address research integrity challenges.

• Provide daily supervision to team members to meet assigned objectives.

• Report to line manager on results and challenges, actively propose solutions and work closely with the manager toward team and company goals.

• Understand internal and external research integrity challenges and suggest new solutions and recommend best practices to improve existing solutions for use 'end-to-end' in the publishing process.

• Be actively involved in and monitoring success rate of stopping problem content at an early stage through various initiatives for various purposes including reporting, fine-tuning tools and processes and potential new solutions.

Stakeholder Management

• Work with key internal stakeholders to ensure the goal of the company to protect our business and reputation from research integrity challenges is met.

• Establish a close collaboration with data analysts and technology development teams to ensure they understand what problem needs solving and provide guidance and/or input on how this best could be achieved.

• Engage with other teams and internal divisions to identify and understand their needs to drive continuous prevention activities.

• Successfully influence and motivate others to accept and support an idea/proposal/plan to improve prevention activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience within scholarly publishing, a good understanding of publication and research ethics concepts, well-versed with publishing workflow/systems/processes, and an understanding of the research environment and recent trends/developments in the field, particularly in the use of (generative) AI. They will also have a track record of managing large-scale projects, experience of stakeholder management, and the ability to manage a diverse and inclusive team of highly skilled experts in multiple locations. The candidate should be able to see tasks through to completion, working to often competing deadlines, and have strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, analytical skills, excellent English language communication skills, and the ability to travel.
