Mental Health Specialist Practitioner

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist Practitioner to join our team in Dudley. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with parents and families to support them in making positive changes to their lives and keep their children safe at home.

Your Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a social work team, assessing needs of parents within a family and providing direct support to adults with mild to moderate mental health problems;
- Carry out individual assessments and treatment, integrating a broad range of mental health approaches;
- Form part of the multi-agency team within group supervision for those adults receiving intervention;
- Offer counselling to adults with mild to moderate mental health problems who can present as distressed individuals with difficult and varied circumstances;
- Attend clinical and group supervision;
- Contribute to court reports under supervision of the clinical lead as required;
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Working with parents and families to identify and address risk factors that may impact on the safety and well-being of their children;
- Providing direct support and advice to service users and their carers;
- Ensuring any treatment programme includes an on-going assessment of the risk of child abuse or further domestic violence and abuse;
- Assessing the suitability of mental health interventions for adults with a range of common mental health conditions;
