Specialist Psychologist Role in Physical Health

We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or a newly/recently qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team in the Physical Health Psychology Service.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills in working across a range of physical health teams and settings without needing to change roles. Our service operates across 3 geographical areas, with a number of contracts in each area.

You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in inpatient and community settings, alongside a Principal Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, and Assistant Psychologist with support from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Main Duties:

  • Provides highly specialist psychological assessment of clients with complex conditions based on data integration from various sources.
  • Recognises potential for client harm, abuse, or neglect, reporting concerns and taking steps to protect clients.
  • Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual clients, providing advice on psychological aspects of risk assessment.
  • Formulates plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or mental health condition management based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice.

Person Specification:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology and clinical psychometrics.
  • HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
  • Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Job Details:

Salary: £53,755 - £60,504 per year (dependent on experience)

Hours: 11.25 hours per week (part-time)
