Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team in Dudley Palliative, Cancer & Bereavement Services. As a Clinical Health Psychology Service specialist, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment for clients with complex mental health conditions.

The successful candidate will have existing or recent extensive experience of working in palliative care, cancer, and bereavement services. You will be responsible for providing specialised clinical input to individuals referred and working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessments for clients with complex mental health conditions, incorporating neuropsychological testing and risk assessment as needed.
  • Formulate and implement plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or management of clients' mental health conditions based on evidence-based practice and an appropriate conceptual framework.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Undertake highly skilled evaluations and make decisions about treatment options.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: £53,755.00 - £60,504.00 per year
  • 25.5 hours per week
  • Part-time permanent role

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status
  • BPS registration preferred
  • Experience of working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings
