About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Collections Officer to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day care of our art collection, ensuring it is well maintained, catalogued, and accessible to the hospital community.

The Collections Officer will also take an active role in growing the collection, ensuring it is relevant and reflective of our hospital community. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique healthcare setting, where art plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day care of the art collection, including cataloguing, maintenance, and installation of artworks.
  • Grow the collection by identifying and acquiring new artworks that reflect the hospital community.
  • Develop and implement creative interventions to bring the collection to life and engage the hospital community.
  • Collaborate with artists, curators, and other stakeholders to develop new exhibitions and displays.
  • Ensure the collection is accessible to the hospital community through regular creative interventions and events.
Requirements
  • Arts or Humanities degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years curatorial experience, including art handling and installation of artworks.
  • Knowledge of collections management and care, including the use of E Hive or similar systems.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
