About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Biomedical Laboratory Assistant in the Cellular Pathology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality laboratory services to patients.

Main Responsibilities

As a Biomedical Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the processing of clinical diagnostic specimens for testing, performing routine and complex laboratory investigations, and contributing to the provision of an accurate and timely service for patients. You will work closely with our team to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory, including the ordering, receipt, and control of consumables.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to have basic computer skills and knowledge of conventional IT software, including Microsoft Office. A level/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification is essential, and previous experience of working in a laboratory is desirable.
