Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving as Project Director: You will oversee diverse ecology and ornithology projects, guaranteeing that they adhere to our high standards of sustainability.
  • Tracking Performance Metrics: You will be responsible for monitoring project and team performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Risk Management: You will work to minimize risks and ensure health and safety protocols are in place throughout all our projects.
  • Budget Control: You will exercise effective budget control, reducing commercial risks and optimizing resources.
  • Continuing Surveys and Data Recording: You will conduct ongoing ecology surveys and data recording to maintain site familiarity and develop your skills.
  • Providing Technical Expertise: You will offer guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Nature Conservation Legislation: You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of nature conservation legislation and educate junior staff on its application.
  • Interface between Ecology and Development Planning: You will manage the interface between ecology and development planning, ensuring that our projects align with environmental regulations.
  • Delivering High-Quality Reports: You will deliver high-quality project reports that meet our standards and showcase the effectiveness of our projects.
  • Leading Marketing Efforts: You will lead marketing efforts, promoting our organization's values and mission.
  • Staff Mentoring and Workload Management: You will oversee staff mentoring and workload management, ensuring that our team members have the support they need to excel in their roles.

Requirements:

  • Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Required Qualifications: A degree in ecology, biology, or a related field is essential. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.
  • Desirable Skills: Proven experience in ecological project management, risk assessment, and mitigation; excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
