About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Custody Nurse to join our team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to individuals detained by the police or other agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and provide care to individuals in police custody.
  • Manage minor illnesses and injuries, and refer onwards for more serious conditions.
  • Undertake forensic examinations to record and document injuries, and collect DNA evidence as required.
  • Provide written statements and attend court or tribunal as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records.
  • Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal, and identify vulnerabilities and safeguarding pathways.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organisation.
  • Administer medications through PGDs and PTPs.
