Job Title: Senior Neonatal Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Neonatal Nurse to join our team at Southend University Hospital NHS Trust. As a Senior Neonatal Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct, supervise, and monitor the provision of nursing care to level 1, level 2, and level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Patients in accordance with statutory requirements, Trust, and Directorate policies.
  • Participate in the management of the Neonatal Unit in the absence of a Senior Charge Nurse, demonstrating sound organizational skills.
  • Assist with budgetary control at ward level.
  • Assist in providing an environment that is conducive to the education of all staff.
  • Provide effective support for senior and junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Current NMC registration.
  • Post-registration experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Specialty Neonatal Course or equivalent.
  • Mentorship/teaching qualification desirable.
