About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Organisational Design and Development Practitioner to join our team at the NHS Business Services Authority. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining the organisational capability necessary to achieve our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with OD&D Business Partners to effectively scope and understand emerging priorities and development requirements, facilitating and/or sourcing interventions as agreed.
  • Support OD&D Business Partners in the effective delivery of the OD&D strategy and associated projects and interventions.
  • Provide OD&D capability to strategically aligned programmes and projects.
  • Design, deliver, facilitate and evaluate interventions to increase the effectiveness and capability of all managers and leaders.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the NHSBSA Core Capabilities are embedded within all interventions and the employee lifecycle.
  • Facilitate learning sets that create expectations and experiences with managers about new ways of working and learning.
  • Ensure OD&D interventions are systemic, innovative, versatile and flexible, focussing on real life experiences and responding to the requirements of the organisation and key stakeholders.
  • Enable people to capture and consolidate their learning, reflect on their experiences and inform future development plans.
  • Facilitate groups and individuals to share their learning to increase the capability and effectiveness of others across the manager community.
  • Actively support the cultural development of the NHSBSA by role modelling required behaviours through coaching and engaging managers and leaders appropriately.
  • Use data and insight from interactions to further inform organisation development.
  • Keep up to date with NHSBSA future requirements to focus activities on organisational needs.
  • Support the development of future Learning and OD&D strategies, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
  • Support the ongoing development of learning communities across the NHSBSA.
  • Proactively engage in your own CPD, including internal and external Communities of Practice.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline or demonstrable experience.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence to build trust and inspire others.
  • Communicates using appropriate style, method and timing with colleagues across all levels and functions.
  • Uses creative methods to involve and generate new thinking from others.
  • Creates, maintains and promotes a strong network of connections with colleagues across the organisation.
  • Uses a range of involvement/consultation methods to create and generate ownership for ideas for the business, without losing pace or compromising service delivery.
  • Achieves an effective balance between decisiveness and analysis - recognises when an issue requires a more considered response or immediate confident decision.
  • Engages colleagues in developing their understanding of the business strategy and the part they play in its delivery.
  • Champions the strategic importance of people, talent management and their associated development.
  • Encourages people to solve problems by empowering them to experiment, learn from, and share their experiences.
