Job Title: Senior Social Work Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Work Manager to lead our Contract and Quality function in relation to commissioned services in children's SEND, children's social care, and public health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Contract and Quality function in relation to commissioned services in children's SEND, children's social care, and public health services.
  • Provide management to a team of 7 contract managers and officers in relation to contract management of commissioned services, including the identification of financial, commercial, and reputational risks to the council and its partners.
  • Lead the response in relation to performance, quality, and value for money of in excess of £140m of commissioned activity per annum.
  • Develop and implement clear contract management processes which ensure the delivery of positive outcomes and ensure value for money of commissioned services.
  • Engage with senior leaders to set strategic direction in relation to commissioned services and ensure clear and evidence-based decisions.

Requirements:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Enhanced and in-date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Ability to work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set-ups.
  • Possession of knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and the ability to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
