Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology graduate to work as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant with an allocated child in a Liverpool-based Primary School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop a strong relationship with the child, providing immediate feedback to third parties, including the senior leadership team, psychiatric team, and social services.
  • Work on a one-to-one basis with the child, or with a small group of students, identified by the class teacher.
  • Provide support to the child in accessing the curriculum and promoting their engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Psychology degree (or equivalent).
  • Be confident working with children who have special educational needs and mental health issues.
  • Have a strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and teaching staff.
  • Have a valid Enhanced DBS Disclosure and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
