Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Liverpool

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology graduate to work as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant with an allocated child in a Liverpool-based Primary School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop a strong relationship with the child, providing immediate feedback to third parties, including the senior leadership team, psychiatric team, and social services.
  • Work on a one-to-one basis with the child, or with a small group of students, identified by the class teacher.
  • Show enthusiasm for making learning accessible for students, demonstrating empathy and patience while ensuring they are engaged.
  • Hold a Psychology degree (or equivalent) and have transferable childcare-based experience.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
  • Have a CV that covers the last 10 years of employment history, where possible.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.

Requirements:

  • Psychology degree (or equivalent)
  • Confidence working on a one-to-one basis with a student or small group of students
  • Enthusiasm for making learning accessible for students
  • Empathy and patience
  • Transferable childcare-based experience
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Professional reference checks
  • Legal right to work in the UK
