Job Description: Primary SENCo

Salary: Paid to Scale + SEN allowance and TLR, estimated around £45,000 - £60,000 per annum

About the Role

As the Primary SENCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing strategies to support children with special educational needs
  • Collaborating with teachers to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching methods
  • Developing and overseeing personalized support plans for each child
  • Liaising with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on their child's progress
  • Providing ongoing training and support for staff to enhance their understanding of special educational needs
  • Collaborating with curriculum coordinators to ensure the curriculum is accessible and adaptable
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of SEN provision

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting children with special educational needs
  • Experience as an SENCo or in a similar leadership role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
