Job Summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Perinatal Matron to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving transformational change in healthcare and developing a workforce capable of providing safe and high-quality care standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure adequate staffing and operational workforce planning to deliver the highest standard of care.
  • Develop and implement staff retention improvement action plans to address local training opportunities and retention issues.
  • Implement the core competency framework to guide local mandatory training programs and keep staff skills relevant to their roles up to date.
  • Ensure all perinatal staff have the opportunity for continuous professional development by assessing training and learning needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating education and training across the service.
  • Provide leadership and management expertise to promote the teaching, training, and ongoing development of midwifery and nursing staff.
  • Ensure the non-registered workforce's personal, professional, and practice development is an active process within Perinatal Services.
