About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our Project & Programme Services team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Building Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships, handling technical and legal issues, and driving innovation and excellence on our projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple projects in various sectors, providing a range of refurbishment, improvement, and modernization projects.
  • Undertake feasibility studies, produce specifications, obtain estimates, obtain statutory approvals, and administer contracts for refurbishment projects.
  • Apply standard forms of building contract, such as JCT and NEC.
  • Mentor and train Building Surveyors and provide supervisor support to junior surveyors on the RICS APC program.
  • Support senior managers in their day-to-day activities.
  • Line manage junior Building Surveying staff.
  • Carry out surveys, inspections, schedules, provide professional services, and manage regional schemes.
  • Develop new business opportunities, including preparation and submission of bids.

What We're Looking For

  • A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS-accredited degree.
  • Chartered status is essential or highly desirable.
  • Sound technical surveying knowledge and significant building surveying experience.
  • Experience managing clients with a strong understanding of profitability, business development, and sound commercial awareness.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and coaching team members.
  • Experience managing workloads and projects.
  • Sound knowledge of drafting technical documents, including clients' requirements, asset reviews, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings.
  • Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements and Statutory Compliance.
  • Specific technical skillsets to meet specialist professional building surveying service requirements, such as Dilapidations, Party Wall, Fire Risk, Access Assessments.
  • Excellent time management, punctuality, and commitment to getting the job done.
