About the Role

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd in Banbury. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping children and teenagers with moderate learning difficulties, autism, and communication challenges achieve their full potential.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide academic and emotional support to students, promoting positive social interactions and enhancing their communication skills. You will work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.

With a strong passion for supporting children with additional needs, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to further your SEN experience and progress within the company, exploring career paths such as SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Autism Practitioner, or Educational Psychologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualized support to students with moderate learning difficulties, autism, and communication challenges
  • Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive classroom environment
  • Enhancing students' communication skills and promoting positive social interactions

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field, such as Psychology, Criminology, or Health & Social Care (desirable)
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with additional needs (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A caring and nurturing approach
