SEMH Teaching Assistant

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges in an academic and personal environment. You will work collaboratively with teachers, professionals, and other support staff to provide individualized support and implement strategies that promote positive behavior and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement strategies and interventions to support the social and emotional development of students.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs and develop tailored support plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior support plans, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
- Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role, preferably in a SEMH setting.
- Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
