About the Role

This is a permanent position within the Finance Controls Office at abrdn, based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the quality of existing documentation and controls for assigned in-scope processes, documenting processes, risks and controls, and performing testing of the design and operating effectiveness of controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and update existing process and control documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assess the operating effectiveness of controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with business leads to agree improvements required and implement changes.
  • Support the maintenance of risk and control databases for the Finance Function.

About the Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified accountant, auditor, or operational risk specialist with experience of internal control testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision to deliver requirements.
