Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute Full time
Project Overview

Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team and contribute to the exciting project entitled "Mapping cellular trajectories in the senescence spectrum". This four-year studentship is funded by Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute and includes full funding for University fees and a stipend of £21,000 per annum.

Research Objectives

The aim of this project is to gain mechanistic and functional insights into the decision-making process between senescence and tumour initiation within the senescence spectrum. To address this, we will utilise single-cell biology and epigenomic approaches in close collaboration with computational biologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the field of senescence and tumour initiation
  • Develop and apply single-cell biology and epigenomic approaches
  • Collaborate with computational biologists to analyse data
  • Present research findings at conferences and in publications
Requirements

We welcome applications from recent graduates or final-year undergraduates who hold or expect to gain a First/Upper Second Class degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject from any recognised university worldwide. Applicants with relevant research experience, gained through Master¿s study or while working in a laboratory, are strongly encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Please apply via the University Applicant Portal. For further information about the course and to access the Applicant Portal, visit:

You should select to commence study in Michaelmas Term 2025 (October 2025).
