About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team at GTD Healthcare. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming experience. You will be responsible for managing the reception area, handling phone calls, and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and receive all patients and visitors to the practice
  • Assist and direct patients to the appropriate healthcare professional/service
  • Process all requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultation/triage
  • Project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors
  • Complete new registration procedures and ensure accurate recording of details
  • Receive and make telephone calls as required
  • Action repeat prescription requests
  • Provide test results to patients
  • Accept payment and issue receipts for private services
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, staff, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies

Requirements

  • Good standard of secondary education
  • Demonstrable commitment to professional development
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Polite, pleasant, and professional interpersonal manner
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Able to work on own initiative and problem-solve within own area of work
  • An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
