Flying Start Early Years Development Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Early Years, Childcare and Flying Start Team in Neath Port Talbot. As part of this team, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality of childcare settings through the facilitation of workshops, training, and mentoring with childcare staff.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To support the development of a broad and balanced range of activities and experiences appropriate to the needs of two-year-olds in Flying Start settings.
  • To ensure that Flying Start settings are quality assured to meet the Flying Start Guidance as outlined by the Welsh Government.
  • To establish effective working relationships with Flying Start childcare settings and ensure positive transition to education providers.
  • To work closely with multi-agencies and promote strategies to engage parents to participate in Flying Start.

Requirements:

Working in a multi-agency way with a wide range of professionals, Early Years Curriculum setting experience, and a Level 5 or equivalent Early Years and Childcare qualification are essential for this post. Candidates currently working towards a Level 5 with considerable childcare and early years' experience may also be considered.
