Job Summary:

As a Strategic Finance Leader at Hays Specialist Recruitment Ltd, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing effective and high-quality financial planning, promoting the organisation as a leader in its sector, and ensuring continued growth and learning. This part-time role (ideally 22 hours) requires a strategic lead for the finance department.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the finance team in ensuring efficient operations and effective decision-making.
  2. Be an active and effective part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), contributing to key decisions concerning strategic planning, implementation, review, and impact.
  3. Implement and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures for all activities, including planning, budgeting, income generation, expenditure, and reporting.
  4. Ensure organisation-wide compliance with internal financial procedures and legal requirements.
  5. Develop the annual budget and financial forecasts, preparing year-end accounts and reconciliations, and generating reports for the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees analysing performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of financial management in an organisation.
  • Knowledge of charity accounting and accounts preparation under SORP reporting requirements.
  • Experience or knowledge of data protection and GDPR compliance.
  • Experience of overseeing payroll.

Salary: £47,264 full-time equivalent (pro-rata for part-time hours)
