About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enforcement Manager to join our team at the Department for Business and Trade. As a key member of our Heat Networks team, you will play a pivotal role in building a sustainable and efficient energy landscape for the country.

As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a highly professional team of enforcement officers and technical experts, creating and implementing operational plans, including financial management and performance reporting. You will also drive the transition to net zero by developing and implementing robust technical standards and regulations to protect consumers and ensure accurate heat metering.

With a strong analytical ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and inform decision making, you will develop and implement effective plans, adapting to changing priorities and delivering results under pressure. Your superb interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build excellent relationships with industry representatives, policymakers, consumers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of enforcement officers and technical experts to achieve regulatory goals
  • Develop and implement operational plans, including financial management and performance reporting
  • Drive the transition to net zero by developing and implementing robust technical standards and regulations
  • Provide expert guidance to support improvement and lead enforcement activities to guarantee industry compliance
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a degree or equivalent in an engineering or related subject, with a track record of delivering technical regulations, operational projects, or similar in the utilities sector. You will possess strong analytical abilities, a strategic mindset, and superb interpersonal and communication skills.
