Are you passionate about supporting children and families in need? Do you have a strong background in working with children and families? We are seeking a highly skilled Parental Involvement Specialist to join our team at Staffordshire County Council.

As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with children, their families, and carers to promote positive relationships and provide targeted interventions and support. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate therapeutic family time between children and their parents or other family members, while also coordinating arrangements for family time as directed by the court.

You will also be responsible for transporting children and young people to attend family time, providing parenting support and guidance during these sessions, and completing accurate documentation, reports, and records related to children, young people, and families.

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum NVQ 3 in working with children and families, or equivalent experience of working with children and families. You should also have experience of direct work with children, their families, and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency, as well as proficiency in the use of IT software, including Microsoft packages.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of child development and the effects of stress and trauma on child development, as well as knowledge of key policies, guidance, and legislation governing children's social care. They will also have unrestricted use of a car and a driving license, and be flexible to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed.

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including opportunities for professional development and a supportive working environment.
